Safeguarding Magic Show For Schools - Key Stage 2
Safeguarding children is not only a job for the safeguarding practitioners in your school or setting. It is the responsibility of each and every person who comes into contact with children.
Through my work with primary school children in Key Stage 2, I communicate the importance of personal safety, focusing primarily on 'stranger danger.' This can help practitioners to identify if there are any safeguarding concerns that may need to be raised regarding the children in their care. I do this by using a puppet to tell a story, along with appropriate magical effects, as it is an extremely versatile and engaging way of helping children to understand how to keep themselves safe.
My 'Safeguarding Children' magic show covers many aspects of personal safety, including, but not limited to:
Not talking to or going off with strangers.
Keeping personal information to yourself.
Not taking drinks or substances from anyone you don't know.
Always making sure a trusted adult knows where you are.
Reporting suspicious actions and words.
I deliver this 50 minute show on your premises. With the help of 'Buddy' and entertaining children's magic tricks, everyone is guaranteed to stay engaged and absorb this essential message.
This show was designed in collaboration with Lancashire Constabulary and The Lancashire Partnership Against Crime in 2009. I have performed in over 100 schools in Lancashire and the surrounding areas, and have always received great feedback.
I hold a DBS Enhanced certificate and am also a member of the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime. All my equipment is PAT tested, and I have extensive public liability insurance.
